Faculty of Humanities, Management and Science (FKPS), Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus (UPMKB) in collaboration with the Sarawak State Education Department has organised the Shine So Bright FKPS programme at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bakun, Belaga on 13 August 2022. A total of 250 form four and fifth students participated in the programme. The organisers would also like to thank Farley Mini Market, Bintulu and CCF Wholesale & Supermarket Sdn Bhd.
The programme is one of the FKPS initiatives in the effort to produce highly motivated and literate human capital in the field of Science and Mathematics in the local community especially in Belaga district. The objective of this programme is in line with the government's efforts in improving the sustainability of Science and Mathematics education introduced in the Malaysian Education Development Plan 2013-2025.
The motivational talk aims to help the students to improve the performance of the students as well as to prepare their minds in achieving academic excellence up to the ivory tower. Preparatory talks before the interview session are intended to provide exposure to students on the preparation before the interview session. Next, the admission info and the conditions of the study program at UPMKB are also explained to the students. Hopefully, this programme will benefit all students of SMK Bakun.
