BINTULU: The staff of Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus (UPMKB) was exposed to the sharing of useful information on the culture of academic talent and the direction of the campus, recently.
The partnership was presented by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Professor Emeritus Datuk Dr Ibrahim Komoo during a working visit to UPMKB and a friendly session with the management and staff of UPMKB.
He shared the culture of academic talent, his views on academic talent, experience and views related to the academic field as well as the direction of the university.
At the same time, UPM Vice-Chancellor Datuk Professor Dr Mohd Roslan Sulaiman said the visit could strengthen the university's direction in driving excellence.
"Through the visit, UPMKB was introduced to the newly appointed Chairman of the LPU on 7 February 2023," he said.
He said the visit also directly provided the space and perspective of the LPU in strengthening the strategy to bring the university to greater heights.
"It is hoped that UPM is a tower of knowledge that is respected and trusted in the world," he explained..
Meanwhile, UPMKB Campus Director Professor Dr Shahrul Razid Sarbini together with UPMKB management also delivered a briefing to Dr Ibrahim.
At the end of the briefing, Dr Shahrul presented a souvenir in the form of his book entitled 'Merpati and Permaisuri The Tales of Sarawak Malay' to Dr Ibrahim.
The program in the evening was a friendly session with UPMKB staff also sharing the same things related to talent culture and UPMKB direction.
He also received a souvenir of appreciation from the President of the UPMKB Support Staff Union (KEPEKASA) Rodzlan Kasan at the program.
Also present were Professor Datuk Dr Mohd Roslan and UPM Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Professor Dr Nazamid Saari.
