A total of 30 slots offered to participate in training under the Semarak Belia Agripreneur Programme are now open until 13 May 2022 to Sarawak youths aged between 18 and 40 years old.

There are three training modules available which are Chicken Farming Module, Fish Farming Module and Fertigation Crop Module. Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements will follow the programme for six months from 13 June 2022 to 16 December 2022 at Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Sarawak Campus (UPMKB).

The programme director, Dr Aryaty Alwie said that the Agripreneur Programme was organised by the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Sarawak and UPMKB.

The Agripreneur Programme also provides an allowance to participants of RM1,100 per month for a period of six months of training at UPMKB and accommodation facilities are also provided at the university at a reasonable rate and participants also have the opportunity to earn additional profits through the sale of the proceeds of the project to be carried out later.

"Participants will not only be exposed to the practical implementation and skills of livestock or cultivation methods, but will also be supplemented with knowledge and skills through the talk sessions of experienced lecturers on business plan development, business report writing, financial management and cash flow, marketing, the use of social media in business, company establishment procedures, loan procedures from financial institutions, innovation and creativity,  as well as "business pitching," Aryaty added.

Participants who complete this programme will get a number of facilities and advantages especially eligible to become a member of the UPM MyAgrosis Club under the cooperation with Agro Bank to be given a maximum capital loan of RM50,000.
