BINTULU, 8 August – Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus (UPMKB) implemented Putra Smart Classroom and launched the Putra Premium initiative in providing the best facilities to students.
Vice-Chancellor of UPM, YH. Dato' Prof. Dr. Mohd Roslan Sulaiman said the implementation was to support student-centered learning (SCL) and make it easier for UPM students to access the internet on campus.
Dato' Prof. Dr. Mohd Roslan Sulaiman said this in front of the new Diploma students for the 2022/2023 Academic Session at UPMKB in conjunction with the Pledge and Undertaking Ceremony and the Vice-Chancellor's Mandate held physically.
"This facility will be the new benchmark for UPMKB in today's learning as well as teaching can be conducted in a hybrid and more interactive manner for the development of students' knowledge," he said.
He added that the UPMKB area will be upgraded with Putra Premium facilities, namely the Sri Rajang College Cafeteria, Library Reading Space and the Academic Complex Lobby.
In addition, UPMKB will upgrade UPMKB's internet facilities from Bandwidth 100mbps to 500mbps in line with the implementation of 30 UPM Smart Campus initiatives.
In the past year, UPMKB has achieved the formation of a complete organizational structure with the establishment of two faculties, namely the Faculty of Agricultural & Forestry Sciences and the Faculty of Humanities, Management and Science as well as the establishment of the Borneo Institute of Ecoscience.
Also present at the ceremony were Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International), UPM, Prof. Dr. Ismi Arif Ismail, Director of UPMKB Campus, Prof. Dr. Shahrul Razid Sarbini and Principal of UPMKB College/Head of Student Affairs, Dr. Kamil Latif.
Meanwhile, Dato' Prof. Dr. Mohd Roslan rutut visited the Forestry Camp of the Bachelor of Forestry Science of Plantation Forestry) students at the UPMKB Nirwana Forest Camp. -UPM
