PUTRA BAKTI 'PUTRA PAWSIONATE' PROGRAM CAN BE ENCOURAGING RESPONSE

BINTULU: The free injection of anti-rabies vaccine under the Putra Bakti 'Putra Pawsionate' Program received encouraging response from pet owners involving dogs and cats as well as abandoned animals in the grounds of The Spring Bintulu shopping mall, recently.

A spokesman for the organizers said more than 1,000 visitors to the program had given positive feedback. Also present to support the effort was the Director of Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus (UPMKB) Professor Dr Shahrul Razid Sarbini and the guest of honour of Tanjong Batu State Assemblyman Johnny Pang Leong Ming.

He said the program also received support and assistance from business premises in related fields throughout Sarawak and Sabah.

Apart from that, he also held a show of tracking dogs of the K9 Unit of the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) of Bintulu District Police Headquarters (IPD).

"The local community has taken advantage of the opportunity given by bringing pets to get the treatment provided such as anti-rabies vaccine injection and deworming," he said.
