PUTRA BAKTI@FOOD WAR FESTIVAL SHARPENS STUDENT ENTREPRENEURSHIP TALENT

Bintulu – 27 March 2022, Students of QKH2104 Student Entrepreneurs (Group 1) Second Semester Academic Session 2021/2022 had organised the Putra Bakti@Food War Festival in private at Dewan Sri Kenyalang, Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus (UPMKB) successfully on 27 March.

This programme provides an opportunity for all UPMKB students to hone their entrepreneurial talents and motivate them to become entrepreneurs. The objective of this programme is to enable students to use the knowledge learned, expose themselves to the real business field in order to produce graduates who are holistic, entrepreneurial and balanced. There are 17 raisers selling a wide variety of food and beverages. Among them are crackers lekor, kuih muih, tiramitsu, burgers and many more. Apart from selling activities, there is also a side activity that is, "Free market". " One man's trash is another man treasure". The purpose of "Free Market" is to collect second-hand items to anyone in need for free. Donated items will be provided at one of the stalls and anyone in need can pick up for free. The implementation of this program complies with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by maintaining cleanliness, social distancing, wearing face coverings, body temperature browsing and Mysejahtera QR Code scans.

Putra Bakti@Food War Festival programme director Walter Bilong would like to thank all involved and to the superiors of Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus for giving students students the opportunity to organise this meaningful programme. In turn, the programme also has a significant impact on all students as the programme is based on a business start-up foundation. Students can also take the example of this program as an important experience in their lives one day. This program has also received positive feedback among students and staff at UPMKB.
