Self-development Programme: Self-journaling as an Academic Intervention Strategy for University Students

E) Self-development Programme: Self-journaling as an Academic Intervention Strategy for University Students

Introduction:

Inspired by Dr. Jordan B Peterson’s self-authoring suite, this cross-sectional study aims to replicate the effectiveness of self-journaling as an academic intervention strategy for university students. Students are given the future authoring programme in their first academic semester and asked to reflect on the objective steps they would take to achieve their expressed goals. Efficacy of the programme is measured in terms of academic performance and drop-out rate of students in the experimental group versus control in the final academic semester. Future plans include using the past authoring programme in conjunction with the present authoring programme to assist in psychological testing and assessments and counseling of students.
