The Department of Crop Science (JST), Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Sarawak Campus (UPMKB) has organised an activity with the Sarawak Women's Association on 13 August 2022 (Saturday), Series 1: Chilli Fertigation, from 8 am to 1 pm. The course was conducted at the Sarawak Women's Association Federation Building, Bintulu Region. The course was attended by 33 participants from the Sarawak Women's Association of Bintulu district.

According to Dr. Kwan Yee Min, the chairman of the course organiser, the Senior Lecturer of JST, UPMKB, among the contents of the Course Series 1: Chilli Fertigation is related to the cultivation of chilli by fertigation and the infrastructure requirements required for the chilli crop.

In addition, the talk / practical session was conducted by Dr. Franklin Ragai Kundat (Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Agricultural Science and Forestry). Participants were exposed to the techniques of fertigation of chilli cultivation, the media needs of crops and fertilisers, as well as the challenges faced throughout the cultivation. This practical session was assisted by other staff of the Department of Plant Science, UPMKB.
