BINTULU: Wan Irfan Hakim Wan Ismail was crowned the winner of the Religious Lecture Competition in conjunction with the second edition of the Islamic Arts Festival 2023 (iFEST) at Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus (UPMKB) on Thursday.

The first-year student of UPMKB's Diploma in Agro Business took home RM400 cash prizes, trophies, hampers, and certificates.

"This victory is my luck and the opening of my new sheet as a student at UPMKB," he said, delivering a lecture entitled 'Ikhlas Shaping Jati Diri Unggul.'

Meanwhile, the runner-up was held by Norain A. Amin from Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) Brunei Darussalam who took home RM300 cash prizes, trophies, hampers, and certificates.

It was followed by the third-place winner Nur Alya Hafizah Omar from UPMKB who received RM200 cash prizes, trophies, hampers, and certificates.

The competition themed 'Islamic Arts Catalyst of National Wellbeing' was jointly organised by UPMKB and the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts Sarawak (MTCP).

A total of 10 participants from various districts competed strongly in the lecture competition.

A spokesman for UPMKB said it was grateful to the other university management who participated in the competition as well as the schools that gave their support and commitment throughout the competition.
