UPM'S EFFORTS IN EMPOWERING HIGHER EDUCATION HAVE GAINED INTERNATIONAL ATTENTION

Following the summer programme through the incentive course organized by FKPS, UPMKB has increased the visuality of UPMKB to a higher level in China, Associate Professor Ts. Dr Wong Tze Jin from the Faculty of Humanities, Management and Science (FKPS), Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus (UPMKB) was honored as a speaker in conjunction with the 2023 International Art Exchange organized by the University of Chengdu, China.

Associate Professor Ts. Dr Wong Tze Jin's talk entitled "Higher Education Research in Malaysia" was attended by 200 students and teachers and it reflects Malaysia's high quality academic programmes that have received recognition from outsiders. Programmes especially postgraduate programmes offered by FKPS were also shared to the students in the talk.

The honor of being an overseas speaker not only opens up opportunities for UPMKB to strengthen international relations, enhance the visibility of institutions globally, but also highlights the efforts to strengthen UPM's position as a centre for excellent higher education at the regional and global levels.

Currently, four lecturers from the University of Chengdu are pursuing PhD studies at UPMKB and this figure is expected to increase. The increase in the number of international students pursuing study programmes in UPM is an international recognition of the ability of the academic staff at this university in ensuring that the program offerings are in line with current trends.
