BINTULU – Recently, the Borneo EcoScience Institute (IEB), Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Sarawak Campus (UPMKB) has received informal visits from the National Kenaf and Tobacco Board (LKTN), Syarikat Juta Walet Services & Trading and Syarikat Sinar Samalaju Sdn. Bhd. located at IEB, UPMKB.

During the meeting, UPMKB was represented by Dr. Syeed SaifulAzry Osman Al Edrus, Director of IEB, UPMKB and Mr. Mohd Fadzhel bin Mohd Nasir, Deputy Director General (Development), LKTN made their respective presentations explaining the functions, roles, capabilities and direction at their respective agency levels.

Several matters were discussed at this meeting especially in terms of potential cooperation which is seen as having a positive impact in the field of research in Malaysia in general and Sarawak in particular. In fact, with the collaboration and collaboration in terms of knowledge, expertise, infrastructure and research funds, it will be seen to increase the capacity in the production of related products to meet the needs of consumers at the national and international levels.

Also present at the meeting held on 29 May 2023 were Dr. Mugunthan A/L Perumal, Mrs. Zahora binti Ismail (UPMKB), Mr. Nik Norhisham Nik Yaacob, Mr. Mohd Azizi Awang (LKTN), Mr. Patrick Jenau anak Tindit (Million Walet Services & Trading Company), Lt. Mdya (R) Duke Janteng and Mr. Jacky anak Lanjar (Syarikat Sinar Samalaju Sdn. Bhd.).

The IEB, UPMKB in particular and UPMKB generally welcome such cooperation opportunities in line with UPMKB's mission to make a meaningful contribution to the formation of wealth and the development of the country as well as the development of mankind through the exploration and dissemination of knowledge.
