UPMKB BEACH THERAPY PROGRAM

On October 14, 2023, a Beach Therapy Program was held which was attended by 60 students of Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus organized by the Association of Peer Advisors for the 2023/2024 Academic Session.
 
The filling of this program has 2 slots namely morning slot: Mindfulness Therapy and evening slot: Play Therapy and continued with the Closing Council of the Beach Therapy Program on the evening side. Mindfulness Therapy is concerned with the use of the five senses of human taste; Hearing, seeing, smelling, feeling and touching objects found on the beach then make connections with the lives of participants.
 
For the evening slot, Play Therapy was conducted where each group of participants had to build a sandcastle that included houses, trees and people. Each slot is limited to only 30 participants and a sharing session from each slot was held during the closing ceremony.
 
This program has been held in Tanjung Batu Beach, Bintulu and the invited speaker for this program is Mrs. Sherry Anak Dunstan, Head of Trainer Counselor, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, UNIMAS.
 
The objective of the programme was to enhance students' understanding of the causes and causes of therapy as well as to establish a healthy relationship between mental health and the performance of students in daily life as a university student.
 
The program director, Farah Syameera Binti Mohd Fairoz said, therapy is one of the most effective stress management methods so in the long run we can form a harmonious and mutually understanding community in a society
 
Meanwhile, Mrs. Sherry Anak Dunstan, the program invitation speaker has stated that in addition to being grateful to be able to participate in this program, she felt happy to see the students really explore the essence of the therapy carried out.
 
In addition to the Closing Ceremony of the Beach Therapy Program, Mrs. Hairunisah Binti Abdul Rahman expressed her joy when through the implementation of this program, UPMKB students were exposed to how to deal with stress that is effective and become healthy students of the body and mind.
