BINTULU: A total of 90 pilgrims attended the dhuha prayer and attended a tazkirah session delivered by the Islamic Affairs Officer of the Sarawak Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) Bintulu Ustaz Awang Fakrulrizan Awang Madohi Division at the Islamic Centre of Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus (UPMKB) on Wednesday.

The Tazkirah was organised in conjunction with the second edition of the Islamic Arts Festival 2023 (iFest 2023) by UPMKB in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts (MTCP).

A spokesman for the organisers said the pilgrims were among the staff of UPMKB and external agencies, kariah surau and mosques around Bintulu.

"We hope that the dhuha and tazkirah prayers can be held again in the future so as to increase the act of worship and piety to Allah SWT as well as strengthen the relationship between the Muslim community in this part," he said.

Present at the programme was UPMKB Campus Director Prof Dr Shahrul Razid Sarbini and Principal of College/Student Affairs (HEPA) Dr Kamil Latif as well as UPMKB management.
