THE BAKSIS DAY @ HEALTHY LIFESTYLE (HEALLIS) PROGRAM SUCCESSFULLY RAISES AWARENESS OF THE HEALTH CARE OF THE CAMPUS COMMUNITY

BINTULU - A healthy lifestyle should be practiced and given attention in living daily life. According to the World Health Association (WHO, 1946) defines the word healthy and health as a physically, mentally, and socially perfect condition and not only in the absence of pain. Health also means the ability to survive with positive prospects.

The awareness of a healthy lifestyle has been proven by the overwhelming response given by the students and students who participated in The BAKSIS Day @ Healthy Lifestyle (HealLis) program. This program is a large part of the hard work by students of the Credit Co-Curriculum Course (QKK2101) Bakti Pelajar (Group 3), 1st Semester Academic Session 2022/2023.  

The BAKSIS Day @ Healthy Lifestyle (HealLis) Program ) program organized various activities for a period of 9 hours of the program. Among the activities that received good response were the “fit yourself”aerobics program, Let's Laugh! Therapy (Aram Perey!), a motivational talk entitled “Know About Your Body”,a fruit carving competition, a food pyramid competition, and a demonstration of healthy menu cooking. 

All these activities are aimed at providing knowledge to the students/i that the health of our body is of paramount importance that needs to be taken care of through various physical activities and healthy eating.

Senior Lecturer from the Department of Science and Technology, Faculty of Humanities, Management and Science, Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Sarawak Campus (UPMKB); Gs. Dr. Wan Nor Zanariah binti Zainol @ Abdullah who is also an advisor to the Bakti Pelajar program said; “ The BAKSIS Day @ Healthy Lifestyle (HealLis) program was organized to create awareness for today's millennials to be aware of their own health as well as to encourage the public to adopt a healthy lifestyle in terms of physical, mental and emotional health.

She said during the “HEALTHY MENU” cooking demonstration program which was the last activity for The BAKSIS Day @ Healthy Lifestyle (HealLis) program at UPMKB; “In the face of the challenges of globalization, one must adopt a healthy lifestyle and educate the next generation to engage in physical activity and practice a balanced diet.
