BINTULU, Nov 1 - The Agriculture Officer of the Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority (RISDA) of Sarawak, Ira Carlbrenie Simol, 40 successfully held the Master of Forest Management at the 46th Convocation Ceremony at Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Sarawak Campus (UPMKB) here today.

 

She, who has a fractured left and right leg fracture, managed to overcome the challenge of six years as a student and worked to grab his Master’s scroll with great joy.

 

"The last few months before the delivery of the thesis after the viva exam I was admitted to the hospital and had to undergo a weekly check-up and follow-up treatment due to bone nerve problems.

 

Born in Penampang, Sabah, believes that the sacrifice of time and energy is familiar to a student.

 

"Thanks to the support and words of encouragement from my family, parents, husband and supervisor especially, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ong Kian Huat and Assoc. Prof. Dr. John Keen Chubo who helped so much that I was at this stage refused to waste it.

 

"Today, I am very proud of myself when I managed to hold my own Master’s scroll at the Sri Kenyalang Hall," she said. -UPM
