The Project Park team emerged champions of the Universiti Putra Malaysia Kampus Bintulu (UPMKB) YB Dato Majang Renggi Cup 2023 after defeating Kenyana OU 2-0 in the final match at Padang B UPMKB here on Sunday.

Project Park burst the net early through Mohd Haisal Yusuf in the 16th minute followed by Badrul Hafiz Mohd Isa completing the team's victory by scoring the second minute in the 20th minute.

With the win, Project Park managed to take home RM1,500 cash prizes, trophies and medals while its runner-up Kenyana OU received a cash prize of RM800 and a medal.

The third place was held by the Putra Tiger UPMKB and Bakoba FC teams which received a cash prize of RM300 and medals.

The prize to the winning team was presented by Majang who is the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Port Development Sarawak Samalaju State Assemblyman (ADUN).

Earlier, Majang also officiated the kick-off of the final of the tournament.

The tournament was organised by the Putra Tiger Football Club UPMKB in collaboration with the Bintulu Football Association (BiFA) which involved the participation of 14 teams around Bintulu.

The tournament director, Damie Ukar said the objective of the tournament was to strengthen the soft skills of the students as well as to foster racial integration between the multi-racial communities in Bintulu.

Also present were UPMKB Deputy Dean of Student Affairs Dr Kamil Latif, Deputy President of BiFA Awang Madihi Awang Yatim, Advisor of Putra Tiger Football Club UPMKB Hakbaryzma Drahman and Assistant Registrar of UPMKB Mohd Amaludin Salleh.
