The 'Pre-Kids Explore: Arts and Science of Agriculture' program was held on 7 January 2023 at Taman Tumbina, Bintulu, organized by students of the CES3201 Industry Development and Networking course, Department of Crop Science, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Forestry, UPMKB.
The program also received support from the Bachelor of Bioindustry Science Association (BIOINC), Malaysian Soil Science Association (MSSS), and Bintulu Development Authority (BDA). The community service program was participated by twenty (20) children between the ages of 4 to 6, from Permata Kasih Nursery and Mama Compassionate Nursery, and accompanied by nursery teachers and parents of children.
This program provides exposure to the participants on the diversity of flora as well as the importance of protecting the environment, the process of planting mustard vegetables through a hydroponic system and producing collage works based on the concept of marine/aquatic life using plant waste.
