ORANG ASLI GRADUANDS ARE PROUD TO CONTINUE STUDYING FORESTRY

BINTULU, November 1 - As an Orang Asli, this female graduand is very proud to have successfully completed her studies in forestry diploma despite the various conjectures she had to endure.

Norlie Jonit, a graduand of the Diploma in Forestry, shared that this programme is very popular with her because as a Jakun tribal community, forestry knowledge has long been incorporated in her as the forest and the Orang Asli are very close.

“"However, with this knowledge, it can help to do research in the field of forestry and insects combined with the customs of the Orang Asli in our village in the future.

Although she was underestimated by the community in his village for continuing his studies in forestry, it did not stop him from continuing his studies at UPMKB for two years.

“Many youths are not interested in continuing their studies in forestry. But I encourage all to continue studying in this field as Malaysia is in dire need of experts in the field of forestry and agriculture,” she said.

UPM for the first time held the 46th Convocation Ceremony of Session 1 at UPMKB on 1 November 2022 at Dewan Seri Kenyalang, UPMKB.-UPM
