BINTULU: The MIX FT team emerged champion of the Futsal Strikers Championship after successfully knocking out the challenge of other teams in a fierce match at the Kenyalang Futsal Excellence Centre Bintulu, recently.

The runner-up and third place were held by Hambur FT and KFKB respectively. The tournament was organized by the QKS2104 Second Semester Students of the 2022/23 Academic Session of Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus (UPMKB) and participated by 16 teams and took place two days on 11 and 12 March. 

Its program advisor Dominic Derus said the futsal competition was held not only to perform the compulsory tasks of the students, but also to foster sportsmanship among the youth, testing the physical and mental endurance among the participants. 

""It also provides a new experience for the students as a facilitator of organizing programs that are closely related to the local community as well as being well received," he said.

He hopes that futsal sports continue to grow and not sink into the passage of time as well as rivals from online games.

At the same time, he was grateful to the management of Kenyalang Futsal Excellence Centre Bintulu who cooperated in preparing the venue for the tournament.
