BINTULU: Students and students involved in the management of the council should be exposed to the importance of managing official and informal functions in the correct manner so that the ceremony is organized smoothly and perfectly.

'Manage To Start 1.0' program speaker Afendi Soon said new perspectives in council management should also be exposed to students so that they can think more maturely, have the spirit of cooperation, and help each other in managing the event.

“Skills such as this including soft skills are essential for undergraduates in pursuing the challenges of the present as well as preparing for graduation when involved in such careers,” said

Afendi who is the Headmaster of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Kidurong 2 Bintulu. He said this during a talk session on the Manage To Start 1.0 Program which was attended by 54 participants comprising students and students at the 2A Central Lecture Hall of Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus (UPMKB) recently.

At the same time, he said, the participation of students and students in various university programs will enhance the spirit of leadership, exposure, experience in managing a program as well as self-responsibility that indirectly strengthens communication skills.

Meanwhile, UPMKB Senior Assistant Information Technology Officer who is also the speaker of the same program Roslan Ismail said the program was well managed even though it was first held.

He said it was able to open students' eyes to the importance of managing the event even though some of the things in the program were difficult to learn.

Among the activities carried out in the morning session were briefing sessions that emphasized the management and protocols of the council, the method of conducting official functions and the introduction to publicity and media management.

This program, which fosters awareness among the community on the importance of skills in handling the council properly, has the potential to be a platform for knowledge sharing to facilitate students to apply the right protocols in the relevant work environment.

The second activity was a meeting session between the participants aimed at strengthening the brotherhood between UPMKB students.

In-group training sessions i.e., delivery sessions based on optional events are also held where the students are divided into four groups and each group is required to simulate the conduct of the event briefly according to the given theme.

It is to see the students' ability to apply the information obtained during the briefing session.
