Bintulu, 12 October 2023 – The visit by the delegation of Kasetsart University, Thailand lasted for 2 days, 12 to 13 October 2023. The first day of the visit, a special discussion was held between the Kasetsart University and IEB delegations to discuss opportunities for cooperation in the future.
The first day program concludes with a tour around the campus and the site of the Padi Bukit research project. Delegates from Kasetsart University represented by Dr. Orachos Napasintuwong (Deputy Department Head of International Affairs and Chair, Ph.D. Program in Agricultural and Resource Economics (International Program), Dr. Jumtip Seneerattanaprayul (Secretary, Graduate International Program Committee, and International Affairs Committee) and Dr. Borworn Tanrattanaphong (Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs and Organization Development).
On the second day, IEB organised a visit to Mukah namely CRAUN Research Sdn. Bhd. and two small and medium business centres (SMEs) of Tebaloi Processing Centre, Kampung Tutus Mukah and Kuih Asli Processing Centre, Kampung Judan Mukah. The Kasetsart University delegation was also accompanied by Dr. Syeed SaifulAzri Osman Al Edrus (Director, IEB), Dr. Anita Rosli (Head of Kasetsart University Visit Program), Dr. Tunung Robin (Head of Borneo Ethnic Laboratory), Dr. Latifah Omar (Head of Borneo Biodiversity Laboratory) and Dr. Adrian Daud (IEB Associate Researcher).
"The Borneo Institute of Ecosciences is very pleased to receive a visit from a delegation from Kasetsart University, Thailand and it is hoped that this visit will have a positive benefit and impact on both parties," said Dr. Syeed SaifulAzri Osman Al Edrus, Director of the Institute of Borneo Eco Science, UPMKB.
It is hoped that the results of this visit will foster a close relationship between the two universities, a lasting exchange of knowledge, and the implementation of innovative projects that benefit the community and the country.
