BINTULU: Various sports events were held in the Faculty of Agricultural Science and Forestry (FSPH) - Glenealy Plantations Sdn Bhd (GPSB) Friendship Sports Programme from 15 to 16 July.

Themed 'Sports For Health', the programme was held at Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus (UPMKB).

The programme, officiated by the Dean of FSPH UPMKB Dr Zamri Rosli, was attended by the Head of GPSB of Malaysian Operations Andy Lau Seng Kee, Deputy Dean of Research, Funding and Graduate of FSPH UPMKB Assoc Prof Dr Geoffery James Gerusu.

The participants are competing in a badminton event.

A UPMKB spokesperson in a statement last night, said among the sports contested were badminton, ping pong and netball with the closing event being a football match event.

The participants of the program captured pictures of memories.

He said the sports programme was a collaborative strategy between the industry and higher learning institutes to foster bilateral cooperation.

"It is also hoped that it will strengthen the relationship between the staff who participated in the event which opened up the space for both parties to participate in leisure activities," he added.

He congratulated the staff of UPMKB and GPSB who won many contested events in the hope of fostering high sportsmanship and a fit mind..
