BINTULU: A total of 60 participants from foreign countries participated in the Khat Art Competition in conjunction with the second edition of the Islamic Arts Festival 2023 (iFest 2023) at Pusat Islam Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus (UPMKB) since last Monday.
A spokesman for UPMKB said the competition, organised with the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts Sarawak (MTCP), was not only participated by participants from parts of Sarawak, but also from the Philippines and the Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University (UNISSA) of Brunei Darussalam.
"The competition is divided into three categories, namely primary school, secondary school/higher learning institution and open," he said here, today.
The competition received encouraging response from participants who tested their skills in the art of khat writing.
