On 15 December, Associate Professor TS Wong Tze Jin from the Faculty of Humanities, Management and Science, Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus, was invited to visit Zhangjiakou University, a public teaching institution in China.

 

The visit was welcomed by Yang Yongfeng, Secretary of the Party Branch of the School of Foreign Languages and Yang Jianhui, Director of the Office of International Exchange and Foreign Cooperation. During the visit, the two sides held detailed discussions and exchanges on areas of cooperation covering research, teaching and human capital development.

 

In addition, Dr Wong also met with the university students to share with students the learning and research experience while pursuing a master's or PhD degree in Malaysia so that students can be mentally completed while pursuing their studies in Malaysia in the future.

 

The development of Cryptographic research, which is the backbone in cyber security, is also shared with the students of the university. Also a meeting session with teachers, students and parents themed Higher Education in Malaysia was also held.

 

Detailed exposure on graduate teaching and learning in UPM is also shared so that students, teachers and parents can learn more about education in Malaysia. Also, the entry requirements to UPM were also shared during the meeting.

 

4 lecturers from FKPS, namely Dr. Alvin Lim Teik Zheng, Dr. Juniza Binti Md Saad, Dr Koo Lee Feng and Assoc Prof Dr Wong Tze Jin have been appointed as Visiting Professors for Zhangjiakou College to share knowledge in various fields of expertise so as to benefit the university community and is a tribute to the academic staff of UPMKB.

 

In general, this visit can strengthen the academic relationship between UPMKB and Zhangjiakou University and support efforts in driving collaboration between the academics of the two countries.
