16 Feb 2023- 30 students of the Diploma in Agricultural Technology Engineering (DKTP) semester 1 session 2022/2023 have successfully developed 2 tables and 8 garden chairs that have been developed using the ferrocement (simenfero) concept.

 

The ferrocement (simenfero) project was successfully completed through the EAB2202 (Introduction to Farm Structure) course where students had to learn about construction structures made of iron, wood as well as a mixture of cement and sand.

 

So, for the final project of the EAB2202 class, the DKTP01 students need to complete the ferrocement (simenfero) project with guidance from the EAB2202 course coordinator; Gs. Dr. Wan Nor Zanariah b. Zainol @ Abdullah and also guidance from the assistant engineer, Mr. Stephan Anak Banyan .

 

The results of their project have been displayed in the garden space or grassy area facing the Department of Science and Technology (JStek) building since 6 February 2022 and have benefited UPMKB students and staff to sit down and relax there.

 

This facility is more used if there is a "Food Bank" Program at JSTek where students can also enjoy the food donated at the garden table and chair set. Hopefully this will be useful !
