BINTULU - 7 September 2023, In conjunction with the 60th Independence Day Celebration at Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Sarawak Campus, the Library organised a blood donation campaign at the foyer of UPMKB Library.

 

This event is a collaboration between UPMKB Library and Bintulu Hospital as an effort to help the hospital's blood bank obtain blood supply for the use of Bintulu Hospital. This blood donation campaign has received overwhelming response from campus staff and external departments.

 

Among other fillings, there was also a Handicraft Sales Carnival known as "Beyond Timber Carnival" at Bintulu level, a collaboration with Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) that showcased multi-ethnic handicrafts in Sarawak.

 

To enliven the UPMKB Independence Day again, the Library also held a Photography and Groufi Competition with the theme of Independence. This competition was also participated by campus residents with a total of 30 entries for both categories that had been competed.

 

The prize presentation was officiated by the Director of UPMKB Campus, Professor Dr. Shahrul Razid Sarbini. Hopefully, such programmes will invigorate the spirit of unity and love of the country among the campus community as well as inculcate a patriotic spirit in the artwork.
