BINTULU: A total of 40 participants involving staff, students and family members of Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus (UPMKB) participated in the colouring competition in conjunction with the 60 Years of Sarawak Merdeka Celebration at the foyer of the university campus library on Saturday.

A spokesman for UPMKB said the competition was aimed at fostering the spirit of unity and family among the campus community as well as inculcating a patriotic spirit in the form of creative work.

"This event is the highlight of the programme that has been held throughout July," he explained here today. 

The presentation of prizes to the winners of the competition was officiated by UPMKB Library Division Head Awang Ahmad Faizi Awang Dahlan.

He said among the other interesting activities that had been held during the programme were the exhibition of Sarawak's children's paintings, Sarawakiana exhibition as well as the Sarawak music.
