A total of 263 new Diploma and Preparation Diploma in Science students enrolled in Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Sarawak Campus (UPMKB) for the 2022/2023 academic session have pledged before the Vice-Chancellor of UPM Dato' Prof Dr Mohd Roslan Sulaiman in Bintulu, recently.
Mohd Roslan, in his speech at the ceremony held on 4 August, congratulated all the new students for being selected to continue their studies at UPM, an internationally reputable tower of knowledge.
"UPM has recently been crowned the 123rd best university in the world and second in Malaysia in the QS World University Rankings 2023," he said.
In his speech, he also announced that the university has agreed to upgrade the Internet facilities in UPMKB from Bandwidth 100mbps to 500mbps in line with the implementation of 30 UPM Smart Campus initiatives.
In addition, Mohd Roslan also launched the Putra Premium initiative which is the provision of high-speed WiFi hotspots in strategic locations to facilitate students to gather and access the Internet. The implementation is to support student-centered learning (SCL) and facilitate UPM students to access the Internet on campus.
