BINTULU: The Youth Biodiversity Science Camp 2023 around Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus (UPMKB) took place from 9 to yesterday with 20 secondary school students from outside this section.

The programme organized by the Forestry Science Department, Faculty of Agricultural Science and Forestry UPMKB in collaboration with the Department of Science of MARA Junior Science College (MRSM) Mukah was officiated by the Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Science and Forestry UPMKB Dr Zamri Rosli.

A spokesman for UPMKB said 20 students attending the programme were form two students of MRSM Mukah and assisted by 15 facilitators consisting of Bachelor of Forestry Science students with Honours and Diploma in Forestry and staff of the Forestry Science Department UPMKB.

"This program is to provide exposure to students in the field of forestry biodiversity as well as to foster their awareness on the importance of environmental care," he said in a statement here today.

Among the activities carried out were Group Training (LDK), Night Walking, Flora and Fauna Recognition, 'YBSC Explorace, Picnic Wild' and self-resilience.
