The relationship between macroeconomic factor and graduate employability in Malaysia

D) The relationship between macroeconomic factor and graduate employability in Malaysia

Introduction:

The aim of the research is to investigate the impact of export, foreign direct investment and gross domestic product movement on graduate employability in Malaysia. Quantitative analysis is utilized based on the data from 1984 to 2017. To identify the relationship in the long run, cointegration analysis is utilized while error correction modeling is used to investigate the relationship between the variables in the short run. It is identified that the macroeconomic factors are jointly significant to determine graduate employability in the long run. Apart from that, there is a significant correction of the variables towards long run equilibrium. Far from contributing to the existing line of literature, the findings on this research can be used by the authority to understand the impact of macroeconomic factors on graduate employability and construct relevant policy to address issues related to it.
