GAI PROGRAM GENERATES CREATIVITY OF SIXTH YEAR STUDENTS SK AGAMA (MIS) BINTULU

INNOVATION is the result of the brainchild of "creative and innovative ideas in which "any aspect of the work is implemented and includes what "what changes in the form of systems, procedures, methods and ways of working.

While an invention is the production of an existing product or modification to meet the needs of the present and future consumers.

In today's modern era, the continuous and high-impact production of innovation is believed to improve the efficiency of a process as well as service delivery.

However, great innovative ideas require high creativity and support to be realized.

Senior Assistant Headmaster of the Administration of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Agama Majlis Islam Sarawak (MIS) Bintulu in Bintulu, Shahrin Omar said the innovation program has helped the students to enhance their creativity and generate innovative ideas to them as well as to help uncover the latent innovation and invention talents in the participants.

A total of 52 sixth year students of SK Agama (MIS) Bintulu led by 23 members of the implementing committee, namely students and students of Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus (UPMKB) together with their advisor Fatin Farhanim Mohammad have successfully implemented this program.

Among the activities conducted during the Gen Alpha Innovation (GAI) program on 5 November 2022 were the method of drawing project ideas, how to build prototypes and produce water rockets (prototypes) that work.

The program was held face-to-face at Dewan Ibnu Sina SK Agama (Majlis Islam Sarawak) Bintulu.

The program started with the ‘`Spring Into Action (Ice Breaking)’ slot slot to increase the agility and efficiency of the participants.

In addition, the slot also bridged the spirit between the participants and the organizers so that the participants would be more comfortable communicating with the organizers throughout the program.

The participants were extremely excited and gave good cooperation in carrying out this activity.

‘`Sketch Your Dream’ was the second activity conducted by the participants. In this slot, participants are required to sketch an innovating product for an hour.

Various sketches that can be seen when they draw along with how to draw from the 2D and 3D aspects are quite good. Participants are also eager to produce interesting and creative designs.

From this activity, participants can learn how to convey ideas, demonstrate the functioning of the product, visualize the flow of product consumption, and visualize the product.

Next, the third slot named `’Future Fellowship’ where participants will be divided into nine groups to build rubber cars, buildings from drink suckers and bear traps.

Participants need to work together in groups to produce a working prototype idea. A committee member will assist each group to ensure that participants can learn how to prototype for a project whether it works or not.

The last slot is ‘`Aim For The Moon’where each participant is divided into seven new groups and they are given the task of building a water rocket and assisted by the implementing committee. Upon completion of the prototype, the committee members in charge launched a water rocket using a wind pump.

Although the program was not very perfect, it was still handled very well as the new organizers first held the program, Shahrin said when completing the closing ceremony.

He expressed his appreciation for the hard work of the students and students involved in the success of the planned program and explained that this program can further strengthen the relationship between students and students and the community around Bintulu.

He also welcomes students of Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus to hold such programs in the future.
