WEBINAR 2021: ‘LOVE IS HEALER OR KILLER?’ WELL-RECEIVED NATIONWIDE

STUDENTS of QKK2101 Bakti Siswa (Group 1) Second Semester Academic Session 2020/2021 Putra Bakti has successfully organised the Webinar 2021: ‘Love is Healer or Killer?’ from 20 to 21 March to expose the community to the true meaning of love.

The organisation of this programme had received an encouraging response through the participation of various parties from all over the country.

Programme director Jose Daniel Ingom Johnny said, the pro programme gram received donations of necessities from the public and families of students specifically to help students in need which is channelled through the Putra Food Bank, UPMKB.

"Putra Food Bank is a facility provided to supply food and necessities for needy students with the slogan 'From Students to Students in Need'," he said when addressing the closing ceremony of the two-day programme which was attended by 150 participants. He hoped that this effort would at least help and ease the burden of the students involved.

Some of the topics covered in the programme were the 'All Out of Love' slot by Senior Lecturer Dr Chan Siaw Leng of UPMKB, 'Manisnya Cinta' by Guidance and Counseling Teacher Noor Yasmin Mohamad Sakeri of Datu Patinggi Abang Haji Abdillah College, and 'Toxic Relationship: In or Out?' by Senior Language Teacher Mr Fakhzan Buang of UPMKB.

Followed by the slot ‘Peritkah Cinta?’ by Senior Psychology Officer of the Student Affairs Division (HEPA) UPMKB Hairunisah Abdul Rahman, ‘Sedalam Mana Cinta’ by JSTech FKPS UPMKB lecturer Mr Mohammad Saufi Mohammad Ramli.

In addition, the programme also promotes the academic programmes available at UPMKB through the special slot 'We Love UPMKB'.

Course Facilitator QKK2101 Bakti Siswa Roslan Ismail added that the programme gave an effective impact to all participants as well as exposing participants to various knowledge and experience that can shape their personalities.

“It is also to strengthen the elements of soft skills in oneself which can be practiced in daily life

"Experiences like this can only be gained through such programmes and not in the classroom, so it would be continued in the future," he said.

Course QKK2101, Bakti Siswa is a credited co-curriculum course that must be taken by students of the UPMKB diploma programme where students are trained to implement programmes based on idea of service to the public.

Observing the new norms brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, the programme is implemented through webinar route in hopes of bringing benefits to the general public.
