On 11^th February 2021 at Baitulmakmur Building 2, Petra Jaya, Kuching, a meeting was held to propose the appointment of UPM Bintulu Campus as the Forestry Research Hub in Sarawak with the Sarawak Forestry Department, which was chaired by Dato Sri Hj Mohamad Abu Bakar bin Marzuki, Deputy State Secretary State (Socio-Economic Transformation).
