NEW NORM - UPMKB ORGANISES AN ONLINE OATHTAKING CEREMONY

Bintulu - Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Sarawak Campus (UPMKB) recently held a Pledge and Commitment Ceremony in conjunction with the Perkasa Putra Week Program (MPP) Academic Session 2021/2022 (Diploma Taking & Science Diploma Preparation) which started on 2 to 6 August 2021 ago. The ceremony, which was previously held in a lively manner in the main hall, was held online this time specifically to welcome new students to UPMKB. Apart from that, it is also one of the symbolic ones that show an individual is officially a UPM student.

The ceremony was completed by YBhg. Prof. Dr Mohd. Roslan Sulaiman, Vice-Chancellor, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) was attended by more than 200 new students and was also attended by UPM Deputy Vice-Chancellor, UPMKB Management Committee, as well as UPMKB academic and non-academic officers. According to Prof. Dr Shahrul Razid Sarbini, Director of UPMKB, many new students for the academic session this time are still at home and the teaching & learning sessions will currently be implemented entirely online until the latest instructions are announced by the authorities. „This is one of UPM's efforts to support the government's efforts to disconnect the Covid - 19 network apart from complying with all the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that have been gazetted‟, he added.

A total of 15 slots have been implemented during the MPP this time. All the contents are geared towards important information that every student needs to know such as academic affairs, loan application matters of the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN), financial aid and zakat and so on ‟, said Mohamad Syukri Mohamad Adnan, Senior Assistant Registrar, Affairs Division Student Affairs (HEPA), UPMKB cum MPP Coordinator this time.

“The HEPA, UPMKB would like to record millions of thanks to all the Organizing Committee and all UPMKB staff for the support and cooperation given in making the MPP a success this time. Not forgetting the line-up of University Facilitators (FU) which consists of the line-up of the Student Representative Council and the College Representative Council for their dedicated service. Make your experience here as meaningful as possible and add value to your future professions", said Dr Kamil Latif, College Principal / Head of Student Affairs, UPMKB.
