The UPMKB Open Softball Championship has brought down its curtain with the men's category championed by the team Tsunami Miri while the women's category was dominated by team Honeybees, both teams hail from Miri. The tournament has brought together 11 experienced softball teams from Sarawak, Sabah and Brunei.

Softball is one of UPMKB's co-curriculum programmes under the supervision of Mr Mohd. Hilmi Kassim and the tournament was judged by an international team of experienced judges. The closing ceremony was also attended by Sarawak Softball Association President Mr. Ishak Chin Abdullah.
