SERDANG, March 19 – "I have finally completed my PhD for five years (2016 to 2021) and achieved success in the 45th convocation at UPM Serdang."

Dr. Carlina said the last few months before the delivery of the thesis after the viva-voce exam according to the specified period is a critical stage when a PhD student needs strength mentally, physically and spiritually. It is the most difficult challenge as it is stressful to balance the workload of being an Agricultural Officer and a doctoral degree student (PhD) in agronomy at the same time. He admitted to almost giving up, but refused to squander his hard work for five years.

"I believe everyone can do it - I probably took a little bit of time to get him ready and eventually he's done. It is a journey and a long process to study a PhD.

It is a rewarding experience and knowledge, skills and attitudes can develop learning your own personal experiences for the future." He said he was found after the end of the 45th Convocation Ceremony of UPM at the Great Hall of the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Al-Haj Cultural and Arts Centre (PKKSSAAS) here.

"The words of encouragement and unbroken guidance from the principal supervisor, Dr. John Keen Chubo, as well as the moral support from family and friends are hard for me to express my joy at completing my studies. Feels like the burden on my shoulder is no longer there." He said again.

Dr. Carlina was the first Non-Academic Officer at UPM Bintulu Sarawak Campus and held an administrative position as Head of the University's Agricultural Park Division, UPM Bintulu Campus for five years (since 2010) before pursuing her doctoral degree (PhD) under the sponsorship of the UPM scholarship to prove her PhD degree as a benchmark to her fellow students.

He served as an Agriculture Officer in the field of Farming especially Poltry Livestock at UPM Bintulu Sarawak Campus since 2002 until now (19 years). -UPM
