University Agriculture Park was established on December 1, 2001 to uphold UPM 3rd objective to become the agricultural centre for learning and services, and as a major bio-resource at international level. This is in tandem with the government’s intention to revitalize and boost the agriculture sector. The establishment of University Agriculture Park is seen as a catalyst, and a platform for the integration of the various components of agriculture. This complete approach to develop and modernize the agricultural sector is accomplished by uniting output, process, management, and business while recognizing the importance of environment and information technology.
As the driving force and platform for the integration of all the agricultural components utilizing the complete approach in an effort to develop and modernize the agricultural sector and output, University Agriculture Park is to:
a) Ensure that UPMKB grounds are utilized and maintained for the purpose of teaching, learning, and research on agriculture.
b) Protect and manage UPMKB boundary
c) Become the implementation force
d) Function as coordinator for teaching, learning, and research of agriculture. University Agriculture Park is assigned with the task of providing facilities and services in support of efforts to develop UPMKB into an Agropolis. University Agriculture Park comprises of the following units
