UPMKB Putra RE program seeks to meet energy security need, improve access to clean and modern energy for remote areas, and to facilitate a transition to low-carbon economy.
The program consists of several units:
- Solar - tapping power from the sun through pv panels, concentrated thermal system or for uv water treatment.
- Biomass - sources from biological matters, such as animal waste, wood waste and municipal discards.
- Hydro - energy that generated from flowing water.
- Syngas - electricity generation from hydrocarbon feedstock. It has half of energy density of natural gas, where it cannot be burned directly but can be used as fuel source.
