Introduction:

This project focuses on the socio-economic aspects of pepper planters in Sarawak. This will highlight the characteristics of farmers and identify what are the common problems that they face. Currently most of the farmers are receiving aids from government agencies and we need to assess the effectiveness of any assistance towards the farmers. One of the major challenges in producing a commodity such as pepper is how to market the products and farmers must be equipped with the knowledge on how to market their products successfully. The aim of this project is also to gauge the basic financial knowledge among farmers and how to assist them to understand the basic financial management.
