FoodBank@UPMKB

The 'Food Bank' program is an initiative and staff collaboration of the Department of Science and Engineering of Universiti Putra Malaysia Kampus Bintulu Sarawak. The idea of the Food Bank is when the Department sees many students who need help when they lack money and are forced to tie their stomachs.

The main objective of this program is to help UPMKB students who are not able to buy food on weekends. This program runs every Friday every week. It is hoped that such a program will be able to help the students who are really incompetent. This program is open to all students, not just students under the Department of Basic Science and Engineering alone.

Food Bank originally provided food aid only, but this program has grown as there are parties who also donate clothing and daily necessities.

The fund is from the staff of the Department of Science and Engineering itself, either in money, food or clothing. Among the foods donated are rice, instant noodles, instant noodles, biscuits, breads, cakes, fruits, and so on. The amount of food / donation depends on the proceeds of the collection every week. Hopefully this pure effort will continue and will help UPMKB students.
