BINTULU: Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu campus (UPMKB) has constructed a walkway at SK Sungai Tisang here under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme.

The covered walkway project which connects the classrooms and the school canteen was built for the convenience of the pupils.

The project was implemented using a fund which was collected from the Ecofit Road and Trail Challenge 1.0 held on March 12 this year.

The 104-foot in length covered walkway cost about RM13,000 and it was completed within six days involving UPMKB staff and teachers of SK Sg Tisang.

The deputy dean of UPMKB Dr Ong Kian Huat officially declared open and handed over the project to the school recently.

Also present were the school headmaster Mohamed Khaidir, teachers, representatives of  corporate bodies, Underground Runners Bintulu representative and UPMKB staff.

At the function, the Ecofit 2.0 event which will be held on March 11, 2018 was also launched.

Over 600 participants are targeted to participate in the event.
