Since the reopening of the campus/Since the campus reopened in 2001, UPM Bintulu Campus has been totally committed in providing the best educational programmes for students to create top quality graduates with a high marketability rate, relevant to the needs of industry. Today, UPM Bintulu Campus offers programmes at the Masters and PhD levels in 42 fields of study, as well as 3 bachelor’s programmes and 7 diploma programmes. By 2021, several new programmes will be offered. We will then have 8 Master’s by coursework programmes, 9 Bachelor’s programmes, 9 Diploma programmes apart from Master’s and PhD programmes in 45 fields of study. This development will support the 5 academic and research thrusts namely Renewable Energy, Industrial Chemistry, Ethnic and Social Economy, Agriculture, and Forestry.
As one of the foremost research universities in Malaysia, UPM, including the campus in Bintulu is actively engaged in research contributing to new findings as well as applying research findings to the community, industry, government as well as the international community needs. One of the latest developments in UPM Bintulu Campus is the Model Sarawak Pepper Cultivation Farm for commercial, research and development as well community service purposes.
In line with UPM’s motto, ‘Through knowledge, We Serve’, UPM Bintulu Campus is excited to share the expertise we have in UPM through community and industry links/network. UPM Bintulu Campus is very actively involved in high impact programmes, community development, technology transfer as well as student involvement in community service activities.
