DIPLOMA IN FOOD ESTATE MANAGEMENT
Diploma in Food Estate Management is offered to create a knowledgeable and skilled pre-professional graduates in food crop management sectors. This programme emphasizes agricultural farming systems, crop management practices, industrial food crops, agricultural products handling and processing, livestock production and processing, farm and agribusiness management, marketing and agri-entrepreneurship. Diploma in Food Estate Management is a two (2) year programme with 95 total credit hours. Program Objectives [Educational Objectives Program (PEO)] Diploma in Food Plantation Management is to produce graduates:
Graduates who have been enrolled in the program for two (2) years are pre-professionals who can engage in food-related fields such as plantation, production, handling and processing of agricultural products either as assistant farm managers, food technologists, processing technicians, supervisors food factory or other relevant occupation. Graduates can also be techno-entrepreneurs who lead to food processing. Students who earn a CGPA of more than 2.50 have the opportunity to further their studies at the Bachelor's degree at institutions of higher learning either locally or overseas.
ENTRY REQUIREMENT FOR DIPLOMA IN FOOD ESTATE MANAGEMENT
Fulfils the University General Requirement and Specific Programme Requirement
UNIVERSITY GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Obtained the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) / equivalent with at least FIVE (5) distinctions (Grade C) including Bahasa Melayu.
SPECIFIC PROGRAMME REQUIREMENT
A minimum of Grade C/6C in the following subjects:
2) Biology or Science
3) And TWO (2) of the following subjects:
(Choose 1 only)
Possessed a certificate in related field from an institution recognized by the UPM Senate.
A minimum of Grade E/8E for subject English at the SPM level.
