OUT OF THE COCOON PROGRAM 2019

On 22 to 24 February 2019, the QKK2101 Bakti Siswa Group 8 organized the Out Of The Cocoon Program 2019 which is located at Kampung Jepak Orphanage Complex (PERYATIM) and Jepak Community Hall, Kampung Jepak, Bintulu. The Group 8 consists of 30 diploma students from Animal Health and Husbandy program (4th Semester) and was facilitated by Facilitator, Mr. Ali Maru.

The program has involved 77 orphans and communities in Kampung Jepak which aims to create good relationship between UPMKB students and residents of Kampung Jepak. In addition, the program can also establish the identity and stand of the participants as well as build participants' confidence to communicate and present the assignments. Among the activities that have been done are Animal Kingdom, Create Your Animal, Belly Up and Agro Farming.

The main activity was the forum titled Taking Flight. The forum was organized at the Jepak Community Hall on 24 February 2019 involving 59 orphans and residents of Kampung Jepak. The organizers invited Haji Abdul Kadier Bin Sahib, Director of Serba Dinamik Sdn. Bhd. and Prof. Madya Dr. Shahrul Razid Bin Sarbini, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Science and UPM Foods Bintulu Campus, Sarawak as a panelist and Mr Saipul Izzuwan Bin Dahari as moderator of the forum. The ceremony was also celebrated with the presence of Hj. Drahman Bin Kawi, Penghulu Kampung Jepak and leader of the race representatives from the Kampung Jepak. The highlight of the ceremony was the opening and closing ceremony officiated by YB Datuk Talib Zulpilip, the Minister in the Chief Minister's Department (Integrity and Ombudsman). The students involved learned and gained valuable experience and memories in the implementation of Out Of The Cocoon Program 2019.
