The Orangutan Day 2017 program is conducted by the Putra President Union of UPM Bintulu Sarawak Campus (UPMKB) in collaboration with Sarawak Forestry Coporation. O.U.D 2017 was organized in conjunction of the International Orangutan Day which was held particularly on 19^th of August every year. This programs objective is to spread awareness, mainly the Orangutans and also the endemic species of Borneo and Sumatra in our community. Coming from the green campus, we understand the importance of conservation of flora and fauna.

This program was done on the 19^th of August 2017 at Dewan Sri Keyalang UPMKB. This program is a State level program where we invited primary schools student from Limbang Division, Mukah Division and Bintulu Division. Almost 200 participants joined this memorable experience where we bring the nature into the hall. We were fortunate to have specialist speakers on Orangutans and Wildlife from Sarawak Forestry Cooperation and UPMKB itself.

This program had many interesting modules done by our students, “Pongo The Explorer”. This module had 6 checkpoints with fun facts activities about Orangutans, clouded leopard, endemic birds, actions and sounds of animals and to recap a memory game. Each checkpoint had a laptop with prepared video facts by our students and also creative own way of teaching the facts such as spinning wheel, puzzle, and information transfer. In addition our students cooperated technology with nature by having holograms, Sara the Siri, and Juju the facts teacher in the videos.

Therefore we would like to express an appreciation to Dr. Zamri Bin Rosli, Dean of Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences for his tremendous support and willing to be a speaker on wildlife on this day. We would like to thank Sarawak Forestry Corporation for sharing their knowledge on orangutans and also to all the schools who joined this celebration.

With that lets work for a cause and not for applause, the legacy we leave behind will be remembered now and then.
